Just Like a Movie

'It's just a movie. It's just a stupid movie.'

There are three main characters in this book. First, a man named Brad. He likes movies and often go to cinema. Then he met a girl named Gina. They fell in love and decided to marry. But they didn't have enough money to marry. One day, Brad watched a movie called "Dead Money" with Gina. It was a story about a man and a woman, they were also poor, too. But a man and a woman in the movie finally spent a happy life. There were a trick. And after watching the movie, Brad came up with an idea. Then one day he met a woman, named Carrie...
What do you think he is going to do? Is his plan going well?
I like the ending the most. Maybe you will be surprised to.
I also think that I can enjoy the constructions of stories recently. Especially, in this book, I like the way of writing in beggining of Chapter five.
If you are interested in this, please check these points, too.

Thank you for reading.

What do you think how he can do a lap?
I felt that all of Peter's classmates are very kind. If I were in this class, I hate Peter and I may say that he shouldn't join the race. I want you to check this bonds.

MONEY to Burn

Mark watches his sister jump on to the horse. Minutes later, she is following Harry and Andy across the field.

One day, four people robbed the money from a bank. But that money was old and dirty money. So people couldn't use them now and that money had to be burned. Robbers wanted to go to farther place, but they couldn't because of bad weather. So, they had to somewhere they can rest. They found a house.
At that time, there were two children in the house. They watched TV and just got information about the robbers. So an older sister tried to let police know, however, she couldn't make a phone call because robbers were in the house.
Then, a police helicopter came near the house. Police came here to look for someone who were injured due to bad weather. What do you think she will do next?
I want you to focus on a point when you read this book. It is a bond between sister and brother. Especially, sister's behaviors are so brave! What do you do if you see the criminals? Can you do anything or you do nothing?

Thank you for reading.

THE LOTTERY WINNER

All lottery tickets look the same. People don't write their names on their tickets...

One day, a young man took an old woman's bag from her hand. In her bag, there were some lottery tickets. She always buys tickets and they are the same numbers. The next day, it is known that the all lottery tickets were the winning tickets. Both of an old woman and a young man thought that "these tickets are mine!" and they are going to fight in court. But there aren't evidences to prove the tickets are his or hers. Who will get this money?
I read the ending and I thought that it's beyond my ideas. So, maybe you will think so, too. This book has about 5,000 words, but I think, it's relatively easy to read. There are some pictures, so you can get some information from them. If you have time, please try to read.

Thank you for reading.

THE PHONE RINGS

Then, in his light blue T-shirt, and with his teddy bear on his back, he went to his friends' table.

This is a story of a man who is trying to talk a woman.
His name is Ben, he is a college student, and it was a first day at university. He was too nervous to talk to everyone. And then, a girl came into his classroom. He fell in love with her at first sight. His friends looked him and they were trying to get some information about her. The way was they watched her and called Ben to tell their data. Do you think he could talk to her and get along well with her?
I thought that maybe things like this story had happened or will happen to us. So I was excited to read this. It is a short story, so if you have time, please try to read!

SO CUTE!

And then there are cute old people. What makes them cute?

One day, one of my friends said that she thought a teacher was very cute. But then, I didn't think so because he was a man and much older than us.
I read this book and my thought changed a little. I knew that opinions differ with the individual, also, a standard of people thinking the things are cute or not.
What things do you think are cute? If you read this with thinking about these things, you can enjoy reading this book.

Thank you for reading.

A Pretty Face

'Tell me, am I a good actress?'

The main character of this book is a girl working in a bookstore and she likes acting in plays. She is going to play "Romeo and Juliet", and her character is Juliet's mother. One of the audience, his name is Mike watch this and he was writing a review about this. He wrote that her acting wasn't good and his review was put on the next day's newspaper. She got angry to read this and she wanted to see the writer of this review to prove she is a good actress. But she never spoke to him. What do you think how does she try to meet him and prove that?

Inspector Logan

'Do you think Buchan killed Margaret Kerr?' Logan asked Grant.

This is a mystery novel. The main character of this book is an inspector, named Jenny Logan. One day, a client visited her office. His name is Robert Kerr and he said his wife didn't go back home last night. So, she decided to put on her picture on the next day's newspaper to look for her. Then, a person camed the office. He said he saw her a few days ago. Based on his and Mr. Kerr's saying, inspectors reached one person. How he is related to this incident? Do you think that the inspectors can get to the truth?
I like mystery stories, so I was very excited reading this. Especially, I like the scene which inspectors are thinking about the criminal or his tricks. It was the best scene for me and I want you to read with paying attention to this point. Unless you don't like the mystery story, I recommend this book very much. If you have time, please try to read!

Scarecrows

Biff wanted it to be a girl.

In the beginning, do you know "scarecrows"?
I didn't know the meaning of this until I read. Also, I knew "All scarecrows are boys". I didn't know that ever.
One day, a family decided to make a scarecrows not to birds get closer to their plants. And children named him "Fred". Then a magic key began to grow and the children took them to a field. There were some scarecrows, and what are they going to do...?
My favorite of this book is the conversations. They are taiked by children named Biff and Chip, and very fun and cute. So, I read feeling like a character of this book and enjoyed it. Of course, the story is also interesting, please try to read.

Thank you for reading.

POLLUTION

Pollution can start in a small way-like using a river for waste. But then, pollution grows and grows, until everybody is in danger...

Of course, this book is written about pollutions. I could get a lot of information from this book. Especially, I felt scary "food chain". Let me explain about it. First, farmers use chemicals to grow their products, and next, insects eat them. Moreover, birds eat the insects and last, we eat. We might eat foods which is polluted. I thought that there are a lot of problems about pollution which we still don't know.
This book is a level two book in the Oxford Bookworms Library series. It is written about pollutions from various views. There are many things I don't know, so I want to gain more knowledge and think what I should do for this country.

Thank you for reading.

"BABE" The Sheep-Pig

Well, the papers for the trials said "Animal" not "Dog", so Farmer Hogget can work with a... sheep-pig!

I think this sentence is a key of this story.
"Babe" is a pig's name and he is a main character of this story. One day, a farmer brought a pig back to his farm, took care of him and Babe started living there. There are many animals, for example, a lot of sheeps and four dogs called sheep-dogs. This word comes from taking care of sheeps. Babe watched their work and he was interested in, so he wants to try some work. He is clever and he did well. The farmer, named Mr. Hogget, came up with an idea. It is to entry the competition of sheep-dogs. But Babe is pig...
This book is a level two book in the Pearson English Readers series. Honestly, at first, I didn't understand the story at all. But I kept reading and I came to understand little by little. This book has some pictures, so they can deepen your understanding. It will be pleasant for you because you might not read such fields of story.

STRANGER THAN FICTION -URBAN MYTHS-

The chicken killed her.

This book has many short stories, so I pick up some of them. I want to introduce two stories.
First, "No Jobs in the Cupboard". This story is about a young man named Billy. He has no jobs and he tries to look for a job. Finishing the interview and when he walked to the door to leave the room, he noticed that he made a mistake.
Second is "Dead Cold". People living in the old Soviet Union in Russia had to make a long line to buy something to eat. Especially, meat is the most difficult to get. One day, an old woman in the long line fell to the floor. What do you think the reason that it happened? I like this expression of quotation.
This book is a level two book in the Pearson English Readers series. I read the book in this series and I felt it was easy to read. This is because the words are simple and each story is very short. Also, most stories are like real, so I think you can read as happening around us.

Thank you for reading.

The Wrong Trousers

This time he was on his trolley, and he had anet in his hands.

The characters are very unique. "Wallace", a man, he presents an unusual present for his dog, Gromit. One day, because of borrowing much money from many places, he should earn money. He decided to make a "SPARE ROOM FOR RENT". Then, a penguin came to his house to rent the room. Actually, this penguin has a plot something wrong and they started fighting using the trousers between penguin and Wallace, Gromit.
This book is written easy words and some of their meanings are also written, so you can understand the rough story easily. Especially, I recommend the scene they are fighting. It's written like a real so I was so excited reading.

Thank you for reading.

Three Tomorrows -Spam-

It was the same everywhere. People bought all kinds of things, things they didn't want or need.

This book consists of three stories, and I want to introduce one of the stories, " Spam". You might get spam mail or use internet shopping. It's written about them, and a family is involved in them. Father got many spam mails, and then it seems that it was solved. However, the next problems is waiting for families. Parents start to use online shopping and somehow they buy all kinds of things, things they don't want or need. Why do they doing like this?
This book is a level one book in the Cambridge English Readers series. This book consists of three stories, so you can understand the whole story easily. I think that you can read more with your imagination.

Eyes

The meercat has black fur around its eyes. This protects its eyes whe it's sunny.

Most animals have eyes, but they have different shapes, roles or purposes. The top is an example of this. People use sunglasses instead of black fur of meercats. Also, I surprised that Fish living in water don't close their eyes. Do you know why they are open their eyes?
This book is a level one book in the Oxford Read and Discover series. I got a lot of information from this book, and I was excited while I was reading this. I recommend that everyone read this book! You will feel like a well informed person.(〃艸〃)

I didn't want to write a computer. A computer which changed everything I wrote. I liked writing by myself.

The main character is a writer and he has a chance to make a movie of his story. Then he gets a new computer to write, television, car. The computer has a character, named 'Chip', on the screen. She wants to help many times than he wants and she becomes gradually an obstacle for him.
This book is a level one book in the Cambridge English Readers series. This book has near five thousand words but include many conversations. So, I enjoyed reading. Its genre is horror and comedy, so I think that it's easy to read. Prease try it!

The Truth Machine

'I know the truth about my husband. Now I am very unhappy,' said Mrs Seeker.
'I know the truth about my criminals. Now I haven't got a job,' said Inspector Sack.
'I know the truth about my spy. What shall I do now?' said Dr Simple.

Hello!

One day, Professor Verity invented "The Truth Machine". The news was spread all over the world and many letters came to him. Then, he chose three person for experiments. The Truth Machine told them truth, but what do subjects think heard the truth...?

It isn't good to lie, but the truth doesn't always make you happy. I read and thought that there are good cases to tell lies sometimes.

This isn't so long and written like a comedy, so you can read easily and with pleasure.

Capoeira: The Fighting Dance

There are considerable numbers of street kids in parts of Brazil, some of whom have 'disappeared' from official records. Confirming that they have governmental records is very important for the futures of these young people.

Hello!
Today, I want to write a review about "Capoeira: The Fighting Dance", a level four book in the Footprint Reading Library series.

Do you know "Capoeira"?
Capoeira is an usual combination of dance and material arts. It was performed by African slaves in Brazil in the 1800s. So Capoeira has a long history.
This story is to help children, for example, who is living on the street or with drug problems, through Capoeira.

Before reading, I thought that Capoeira was the just one of the sport, but I knew that it helped many people. Also, I'm interested in Capoeira, I want to try to do this!

Thank you for reading.

One Woman's Choice

Whatever Flora decides, she know that she will lose something important: her husband and family, or her past.

Hello!
This time, I want to write a review about "One Woman's Choice", a level four book in the Footprint Reading Library series.

This story is about a woman whose life certainly changed by a choice.
She moved to new villege to live with her husband, but this means that she can't to live with her family. She thought many times and finally, she made a decision what to do in the future.

Of course, I think that this is not an easy question for her. So she went back to home and met her mother to consider it.
I thought that it's important for us to think about problems carefully to make a decision. Also, I believe that she is happy because of her careful consideration.

This story isn't so long, so I think it's not difficult to read.
Please try to read this!

Thank you for reading.

Jobs

When you are in a city, how can you go from a park to a library?
Maybe you take a bus or a train. Bus drivers and train drivers are doing a job.

Hello.
This time, I want to write a review about "Jobs", a level two book in the Oxford read and Discover series.

There are many jobs and this book is written about them, for example, jobs of making things or at night.

Especially, from this sentences, I thought that jobs are always related to us when we do things. This means that we cannot live unless someone works.
I show an example from this book.

These musicians are working. They are playing instruments. People pay money to watch the musicians.

If someone likes to watch them, we can enjoy. However, we can't enjoy if there aren't person who plays.

I want to get a job and be helpful for people.
Thank you for reading.

The Elephant Man

I say a creature, because it was not a man or a woman, like you or me.

Hello!
Today, I want to write a review about "The Elephant Man", a level one book in the Oxford Bookworms Library series.

This is a true story. Before reading this, I thought that a man with face looked elephant made by chance using something... like magic.
But it was not.
"The Elephant" is a metaphor of a man with ugly looking.

This story starts from an encounter between a doctor named Frederick Treves and a man named Joseph Merrick. Then, Merrick's life is changing to happy.
But, I want you to read in the end of this book because I couldn't expect the scene like this!

In this book, there are some scenes that he did not treat as a man, so some people don't want to read this tragic story.
But I recommend this because I want you to know pleasure of Merrick. For example, he made a friends for the first time and shook his hand.

Thank you for reading.

BACKSTAGE PASS

"I'm sorry.", you say. "I'll put the guitar back."
"No, that was a good riff," the security guard says. "Do you know some other Martians songs?"
"Some?" you say. "I know them all!"

Hello!
This time, I want to write a review about "BACKSTAGE PASS", a book in the Atama-ii Books series.

This is a story about a concert. You and your friend Julie are going to the concert together of the Martians. The Martians are the most famous band in the world, and one of the member, named Hugo, was a hero for you.
When they get to the concert, they saw a backstage door and tried to enter...?

I chose the scene because I was excited the most when I was reading this scene.

There are some different happy end, not one, so I enjoyed the story, too!
But I surprised some of the ends because it was so different between happy and bad end.

I think that this book is easier book in the Atama-ii Books series.
Please try to read and if you have time, try to read all ends!

Thank you for reading.

I Don't Want to Live For Ever!

Perhaps science can help us to live longer lives, but it can't help us shape our lives or make them happier.

Hello!
Today, I want to write a book review about "I Don't Want to Live For Ever!", a book in the Literacy Land series.

Do you want to live for ever?
When I was asked this question in the beggining of this book, I could't answer then. Of course, I want to live for ever, but all creatures will die some day. So, I couldn't know which answer was right.
How about your opinion?

In this book, it's written about many things of lives.
Now, we can live longer thanks to science. But if we live longer, how the world is going to be? You can see the arguments why living for ever might not be a good thing.

I was impressed the most with the top of sentence. In the world, there are people who achieved a lot in a short time. The times goes on and on, so I want to live a full life day by day.

Reading this, I found that I usually don't think about the theme of this book, but I knew new things and I'm interested in this.

If you are interested in this book by reading this review,
please check this!

Thank you for reading.☺
